Garbo Servizi S.r.l. is founded, immediately pioneering the recovery of silicon carbide and polyethylene glycol—substances used in abrasive slurries for cutting silicon wafers for the photovoltaic and semiconductor industries.
A joint venture with a German partner leads to the creation of SiC Processing GmbH to scale the recovery technology to industrial level. The process proves successful and is adopted internationally.
After the joint venture ends, the company reorganizes: SiC Processing continues to handle abrasive recovery, while the new Garbo S.r.l. focuses on developing innovative technologies to regenerate other materials, such as glycols and PET.
A new plant for abrasive slurry treatment becomes fully operational, designed to maximize efficiency and optimize consumption. Meanwhile, expansion continues in the commercialization of chemicals and plastics.
